A partnership between the College of William & Mary and the University of Sarajevo to foster cross-cultural understanding and empower the youth of Bosnia to work towards positive change.

The William & Mary American Bosnian Collaboration (ABC) project brings together W&M and Bosnian students  to work together to plan and run a 3-week summer program in English for children in Bosnia. The teachers focus on effective educational approaches to bridge cultural differences and promote inter-cultural competency through effective communication strategies.

Olivia Olson (ABC '22, W&M '23) receives Fulbright grant to be an English Teaching Assistant in Bosnia starting Fall 2024!

Mission

The William & Mary American Bosnian Collaboration (ABC) project, based at W&M’s Global Research Institute, brings together W&M and Bosnian students to foster cross-cultural understanding and work towards positive change for the youth of Bosnia.The ABC project is a unique international research opportunity for students interested in making a difference in the world and getting to know another culture in depth and up close. Students focus on testing educational approaches to teach English and media skills to help bridge cultural differences in the region.
